Welcome to the FiREhazard Games podcast thing! I’d have recorded one, but the online recorder wasn’t working for me and I’m too lazy to create and upload an audio file. Lucky for me, I can post blogs here too.
Not that I really have all that much to talk about. Though it has been somewhat of an eventful day; Apple just announced new iMacs (available today!) made of aluminum and glass, with a new MacBook-esque ultra-thin keyboard. This is exactly what I was hoping for! I just got a MacBook in June, so I’m good for now, but later in the year I would love to compliment it with an iMac, so I was hoping for a redesign. Actually, I was hoping for something a little more dramatic, like the difference between the original Mac and the original iMac, or the original iMac and the iMac G4 or the—you get the point. I’m still very happy though. Apple makes sexy products, and the redesigned iMac (I call it the G5 style, because that’s where the current design started) is certainly gorgeous. I like the use of black. Very classy. Leopard will look great on it!
They announced iLife ‘08 as well, also available today. I think iWork ‘08 is as well. I’m especially excited about the former, though, because that means a new GarageBand. I bought a USB MIDI cable on eBay last month for use with my new MacBook and GarageBand, although I haven’t done much with it. Of course, that could be attributed to the fact that the cable crapped out after a day of use. I have no idea why. It doesn’t receive power, so something must be loose or… something. If I was more mechanical and good with my hands, I’d have a look myself.
Oh!! The Simpsons, Season 10 comes out on DVD today. I have no means of going into town and buying it though. Not until Thursday. D’oh! I can wait, though. Incidentally, The Simpsons Movie was fantastic. Any fan who doesn’t see it is cheating themselves…. Jeremy…. ;)
I can’t wait until that’s on DVD. I heard it’ll be crammed full of bonus content, which I’m a sucker for. You can blame the Seinfeld DVDs for that. The Seinfeld DVDs have set the bar for bonus content on TV show DVDs in my opinion. Much like the show itself setting the bar for sitcoms, which pathetically and unfortunately hasn’t been met since the show ended in 1998. Many come close, though. Recently I’ve rediscovered my joy for Malcolm in the Middle. And you know what? I’ll be damned if every single episode of that show isn’t currently on YouTube… which makes me even more happy. Thanks YouTubers!
So yes, this is the FiREhazard Games podcast. And, evidently, blog. It’s basically a means for us to do what we used to do on our former site, Void Games, which is ramble on about stuff we like.
Stay tuned! http://www.firehazardgames.com
